Kevin left KPMG in 1992 to become Chief Financial Officer for Nevada Bob’s Pro Shops, Inc., an international franchisor of golf and tennis retail stores, with the primary responsibility for all worldwide financial and accounting operations. In 1994, Kevin became a corporate controller for Hilton Hotels, Inc. In this capacity, he was responsible for supervising the individual property controllers for eleven hotel and casino properties and for the consolidation of all financial information for the gaming division.

In 1997 when Hilton Hotels consolidated all accounting functions into its Southern California offices, Kevin made a lifestyle decision to move to Fort Collins, CO and open his own accounting firm. Shaw & Associates has grown to a staff of seven, specializing in both small business and individual accounting and taxation.

In his spare time, Kevin enjoys golf, running, and family activities. He has been involved in many charitable and civic organizations in Fort Collins including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County, the Food Bank for Larimer County, the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Fort Collins Economic Advisory and Budget Oversight Committees, and Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church's Pastoral and Finance Councils.

Marcy Palm has over thirteen years experience in various accounting roles ranging from Fortune 500 corporations to small business and public accounting. She graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, in 1995 with a B.B.A. in Accounting and started her career as an analyst in the Financial Reporting department of Circuit City Stores, Inc, in Richmond, VA. After two years, she moved to Washington, DC, where she worked as a Senior Internal Auditor and a Business Analyst for Marriott International, Inc, before moving to Colorado in 2001. She started her own business in 2002 in Fort Collins providing bookkeeping services to a variety of small businesses throughout the community.

In 2005, she agreed to start working with Shaw & Associates on a very part-time basis preparing tax returns during tax season. It was soon evident that Marcy’s skill set had tremendous value to the firm, and her position quickly grew into a full-time Accounting Supervisor position that allows Marcy to work with a wide variety of businesses and individuals in several different capacities. She is responsible for tax preparation, tax planning, overseeing bookkeeping operations, and helping to steer the business, and she loves the interaction she has with all our clients.

In her free time, Marcy enjoys almost any kind of outdoor activity, including skiing, hiking, camping, and playing softball. She and her husband Dave have one son.
